The Nene Valley Railway, based at Wansford, operates a 7.5 mile line between Peterborough and Yarwell Junction over part of the former LNWR/LMS Northampton to Peterborough line. It is unusual in that it operates both British and Continental trains, the reason for this being that in the early 1970s when the line was being reopened the only British locomotives available were in scrapyard condition while locos and stock were available from Europe in working order.
