The Foxfield Railway, another of my local lines, was built to carry coal from Foxfield Colliery at Dilhorne, Staffs, to a junction with the NSR Stoke to Derby line at Blythe Bridge. The Foxfield Light Railway society took over the line in 1967 after closure of the colliery and now has a large collection of industrial locos and rolling stock, many with Staffordshire connections. The present passenger operation is a three mile run from Blythe Bridge [Caverswall Road] to Dilhorne Park at the top of the steep incline from the colliery.
